The Sugarloaf Marina has been a
Lower Keys landmark for decades. Adjacent to the Sugarloaf Lodge
at Mile Marker 17 on Sugarloaf Key is the Sugarloaf Marina.
Owners Jeannie and Jimmy Johnson have taken special pride in
making the marina a place not only to find all your
bait, tackle, gas, ice
and beer, but a place where the locals hang out and enjoy
the laid back lifestyle of the Florida Keys.
Our marina is accessible by boat from the Atlantic Ocean and
Gulf side of the Keys. We do have a boat ramp that is accessible
to the public for a nominal fee. This ramp is not intended for
large vessels, but there are other ramps in the area that can
accommodate larger boats.
We carry live shrimp, crabs and pinfish and also have frozen
bait and chum. Our marine
store features many of your fishing needs including rods,
reels, egg sinkers, nets, hooks of all sizes, bobbers, and
sabiki rigs just to name a few items.
We also carry a many of the hardware items that you may need in
a pinch when traveling with your boat.
One of our best known features is our
Kayak Rentals. We
offer kayaks for rent by the hour that you may launch from our
location and explore the nearby mangrove creeks, or you may rent
our kayaks and take them to your rental home or location in the

In addition to the marina itself, we also offer
fishing charters
from a select few local captains. There are plenty of
opportunities to fish on the flats for tarpon, bonefish and
permit or head offshore to the reef and beyond for sailfish,
mahi-mahi, tuna, snapper and grouper.
